Strategy Consulting for Real Business Impact

Strategy that answers to the business, not just a channel plan.

Plenty of strategy work stops at the marketing plan: which channels, which message, which calendar. We start further back than the channels, the message, the calendar. The first question is what the business actually needs to change. Only once that's answered do we look at whether marketing is the right lever to pull, and if so, which part of it.

We are the layer that decides what the rest of the stack is for.

What this actually is.

Every discipline on this site, PR, social and digital, design, community, activation, does its job well when it's answering the right question. Strategy is where we work out what that question is. That means separating what a client has asked for from what the business actually needs, treating evidence as something that has to change a decision rather than decorate a deck, and making an actual choice rather than keeping every option open to avoid disagreement. Sometimes the honest answer is that the problem isn't a marketing problem at all, and we'll say that rather than build a campaign around it anyway.

When you need this:

  • Growth has stalled and it isn't obvious whether the plan, the execution, or something outside marketing entirely is the problem.

  • A rebrand, a market entry, or a new competitor has raised questions no single channel team can answer on its own.

  • You're spending across several disciplines and can't tell whether they're pulling in the same direction.

  • You're tracking numbers and aren't sure they're the numbers that actually matter to the business.

  • You want a plan pressure-tested against what will actually move the business before money commits to it.

How we approach it:

We treat what's been asked for as evidence about the problem, not proof of it. We separate fact from assumption before either gets built into a plan. We don't trust stated preference over observed behaviour, people say one thing in a research session and do another in the real world, and we've written about why that gap matters more than it looks. Once a choice is made, we hold execution to it, and we're willing to change course mid-flight when evidence says the choice was wrong, rather than protect the original answer for its own sake.

Strategy before Execution

What we do:

  • Work out whether a business problem is actually a marketing problem, before recommending anything.

  • Set the strategic choice that PR, social and digital, design, community, and activation all have to serve, so effort across disciplines pulls in one direction.

  • Pressure-test a brief or a plan against what will actually move the business, before spend commits to it.

  • Define what success has to mean before the work starts, not after it's live.

  • Stay connected through execution, so the plan can change when the evidence does.

Where this connects:

Strategy sets the direction; Social Media, Public Relations, Community, and Activation are where it gets built and run. The relationship runs both ways: execution feeds real evidence back into the choice, rather than strategy handing off once and disappearing.

A team that's focused on smart strategy and real results.

The work only counts if it moves something the business actually cares about, not just something that's easy to count. A number matters once we know what it's supposed to prove: whether it moved someone toward a decision, addressed a real pain point, or shifted where they sit in the buying cycle. Whatever a channel produces, coverage, reach, engagement, gets judged against that standard. It isn't proof on its own.

An agency with people who've actually worked in finance, accounting, hospitality, retail, consumer behaviour, psychology, and science understands a business fast, and that speed matters once real budget is riding on the choice. It also means the plan doesn't start from a marketing textbook.
