BRANDTHINK Malaysia announces GM appointment as it eyes strong start to 2021

BRANDTHINK Malaysia has announced that Chia Li Sing will be taking on the role of General Manager, effective immediately. Chia has been with the agency for over 10 years, first leading the PR practice as its Senior Associate, before moving up to the role of Associate Director for Communications and Brand Planning.

The appointment comes on the back of a challenging year as she leads the agency’s initiatives to start on a footing of growth for 2021. Throughout 2020, the agency has embarked on a transformation programme that saw a refinement of practices within the agency, shifting of capabilities to include live-streaming, e-commerce marketing capabilities as well as regional communication planning.

As a result of these initiatives, the agency successfully won new business in the past quarter including The Macallan, Cycle & Carriage Bintang, Monin Asia, Kanebo, Tefal, Paramount Property, Cosentino and Pau Ahmad. These appointments were across several business practices that include PR, Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing and e-Commerce.

Chia joined the marketing agency in 2010 within its nascent PR practice. In 2014 she was appointed Senior Associate for the PR practice before taking the role of Associate Director of Communications and Brand Planning in 2016. During her time with the agency, she has played a key role in driving key clients particularly with Singapore Tourism Board, Mattel, and Under Armour among many others. She led startup programmes that established a Planning and Brand Consulting practice within BRANDTHINK Malaysia, as well as spearheading the roll-out of a Digital PR practice in 2017. 

As a mentor, she has helped raise leaders especially among women who now leads various roles within the agency. Her time with the agency also saw a rise of strong leadership of extraordinary women in every practice, as well as establishing a culture to nurture future leaders among women who are starting in their careers. Presently, 96% of staff strength within BRANDTHINK Malaysia are women.

A quietly confident individual, she has a keen eye on the industry and has a pulse on emerging trends.”

As General Manager, her goal would be to continue the momentum established in 2020 and build back stronger. BRANDTHINK Malaysia aims to head into 2021, its 21st year in business, with a greater emphasis on agility and building on the strength of our core competency. Apart from new business, BRANDTHINK is also focusing on growing its talent acquisition to grow as much as 30% of its staff strength by the middle of 2021.
